Websites and marketingfor general contractors and builders.
Clients are trusting you with a large sum and their home for months. I design the site, build it, then run the search, email and ads that keep the enquiries coming.

How general contractors and builders win customers online, and what I would put in place to win more of them.
How customers choose
Hiring a builder is a big decision. Clients are handing over a large sum and living with the work for months, and many have heard horror stories. They look for evidence of finished projects like theirs, clear communication and a sense that the company will manage the job properly from start to finish.
What the website has to do
A contractor's site should be built around detailed project case studies: the brief, the challenges, photos through the build and the finished result, with timelines. Pages for kitchens, extensions, loft conversions and full renovations each speak to a different client. A consultation form with budget ranges filters enquiries and helps you prioritise serious projects.
What keeps it busy
Renovation decisions take months, so nurturing leads is as important as attracting them. A guide to planning a renovation that captures email, followed by a sequence of useful messages and recent project stories, keeps you in mind. Reviews from past clients and a Google profile full of real project photos do much of the persuading.
Where it usually leaks
The places general contractors and builders most often lose a customer who was ready to buy.
- Finished projects are not documented, so the site looks like any other builder.
- Calls missed while you are on a job go straight to the next company on the map. Most callers never leave a voicemail.
- Competitors with fewer years and worse work outrank you on Google Maps because their profile is better kept.
- Quotes go out and nobody follows up, so they quietly go cold.
Where I’d start
A Google Business Profile that wins the map pack, a page per service and per area, and an automatic text back to every missed call.
- Detailed project case studies with photos and timelines
- Pages for kitchens, extensions, loft and full renovations
- A consultation booking form with budget ranges
- Nurture emails for long decision times

Services that fit
Questionsworth asking.
- How much does a website for general contractors and builders cost?
- It depends on the project, so there is no rate card. The number comes from how many pages and services the site covers, whether it needs booking, payments or integrations, and whether you want the marketing run after launch. After a 30-minute call you get a written scope and a quote, usually within two working days, and I will tell you honestly what your budget can do well.
- Do you work with general contractors and builders anywhere in the world?
- Yes. I work with anyone, anywhere, fully remotely. Calls are booked at a time that suits us both, and everything else runs in writing, so the distance rarely matters. I have delivered for clients in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and France.
- Do I need a website if I already get work from referrals?
- Referrals still look you up before they call. A referral who finds a slow site or no reviews often calls the next name instead, and you never hear that it happened. The site does not replace word of mouth; it stops you losing it.
- How do I show up for nearby towns, not just my own?
- A page for each area you genuinely serve, with real detail about the work you do there, plus a Google Business Profile with the service area set properly. One page listing twelve town names does not rank for any of them.
